The AZ-305 exam is split into four domains, and each one carries a different weight toward your score. Here's how the Designing Microsoft Azure Infrastructure Solutions exam divides its questions.

• Design Identity, Governance, and Monitoring Solutions (25–30%). Design Azure AD, RBAC, Azure Policy, and monitoring strategies.

• Design Data Storage Solutions (20–25%). Choose and design relational, non-relational, and big data storage solutions on Azure.

• Design Business Continuity Solutions (15–20%). Design backup, disaster recovery, and high-availability strategies.

• Design Infrastructure Solutions (30-35%).

Whizlabs lays out a clear path for preparing for the AZ-305 exam, so you're never guessing what to study next.

Start with the 130+ video lessons in this AZ-305 course to build a working model of Azure identity, governance, storage, and infrastructure design. Then move into the 130+ hands-on labs, where you'll actually configure these solutions in a live Azure sandbox rather than just reading about the architecture patterns. For a deeper walkthrough of this stage, check out our guide on preparing for the AZ-305 exam domain by domain.

Once the concepts feel solid, work through the AZ-305 practice test set. Each question comes with an exhaustive explanation, so a wrong pick becomes a lesson in how Microsoft expects senior architects to weigh trade-offs,  not just a mark against you.

When your practice test scores stay consistently above the passing mark, you're ready to book the exam. Finish the course end to end, and you'll sit the AZ-305 exam already comfortable with these architect-level scenarios, backed by Whizlabs' hands-on labs, sandbox environment, and expert support the whole way through.

The AZ-305 certification is an expert-level credential. Microsoft recommends holding the Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104) certification first, along with advanced IT experience in networking, security, identity, and disaster recovery on Azure.

Once you pass, the Designing Microsoft Azure Infrastructure Solutions certification stays valid for 24 months. Before it expires, you can renew the AZ-305 certification through Microsoft's free online renewal assessment.

Passing the AZ-305 exam earns you the Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert title, one of the most senior credentials in the Azure ecosystem. Many architects pair this Designing Microsoft Azure Infrastructure Solutions certification with the AZ-500 (Azure Security Engineer Associate) to round out both architecture and security depth.
